Happy Tues (and Lazy) Day!!
Last night, we wore our snazziest attire and danced to our hearts’ desire to killer throwback beats (including Taylor Swift). Meanwhile, others partook in lively tractor rides plus a photo booth, crown making, a tea party and basketball. (See photos below!)
Today’s on-camp lazy day has been full of fun featuring much-welcomed afternoon sun. In the morning, Molly from Mad Science swung by with an epic setup to lead an interactive science-experiment showcase featuring the elements at their most enchanting…think a fire-breathing stuffed-animal or dry-ice bubble bath!
Moreover, another special visitor, John Bear Mitchell has come by camp to share insights on the Wabanaki tribe native to HVC’s land and its history with some campers and to lead them on a production of a theatre performance. As someone with a deep well of such important knowledge who also professionally advises Hollywood on Native American representation, we’re so grateful to have John as a teacher, resource and friend.
After a refreshing and relaxing round of pool and poolside activities this afternoon, we’re getting hyped for Valley Fest tonight, HVC’s camper talent show!! With an impressive lineup so far reflecting the incredible talent pool in our young community, I’ll be silently cheering for all my beloved people from my dining hall perch.
Gently swaying with MAD excitement,
The Dining Hall Dragon
