Also yesterday during our final Interest Groups the famous “white books” were handed out to campers! White books are blank books that campers can pass around to each other, AWACs, counselors, and other staff to sign, write notes in, or draw pictures. What a great way to commemorate the last day of classes, even in the rain. It was a beautiful scene inside the red barn. Check out the pics below!
During evening meeting we honored the Brumby team. The Brumby campers live next to the horse barn and every day feed, clean, and tack up the horses for their full day of classes – thank you and congrats!
We then enjoyed a memorable evening in the Rec Hall for Sharing Night where we were treated to an eclectic and enchanting lineup including multiple musical performances, three dance pieces, a mock pirate sword fight, a swim class comedy act, a ‘Snacktor’ crew cameo and more! (See photos below!)
Audience participation was also particularly high with enthusiastic accompaniment to Rock Band hits plus a buzzy remix of ‘Sweet Caroline’. The HVC community spirit was palpable!
Today, we’ve jumped into another – the last – Lazy Day of the session! Following (slightly) lazy wakeups and the iconic Egg Bar, we started preparing for the bittersweet end while cherishing all the remaining moments for cabin bonding with the antepenultimate Packing Day Jr. Jr. before commencing our high-energy morning programs.
Younger and older halves claimed two sides of camp for spirited games of ‘Candy Crush’ and ‘Predator Prey’ respectively! Whether running around collecting ‘candy’ maliciously hidden by green AWAC Oompa Loompas and their ringleader the evil Willy Wonka or refueling at randomly-dispersed food and water stations while avoiding ‘predator’ campers, heartbeats and silliness levels were through the proverbial roof.
Following a well-deserved Lazy Day lunch outside, the day continues with classic Pool Activities and…MAJOR DRUM ROLL…the Musical!!! We are SO excited to witness the epic production showcasing all the hard work of the entire cast and crew these past four weeks.
Looking ahead, tomorrow is Fair Day! In addition to seeing the brilliant work of the arts classes this session, a range of other crowd-favorite events are in store. More details tomorrow!!
