Greetings HVC!

It’s a cloudy day in the Valley but we’re busy busy busy!! Lots of work projects are underway and our amazing crew of staff are starting to get the place ready for Staff Training to commence in just over a week. So follow along, we’ve got lots to see!

First stop, Meg’s Planet! After some renovations this spring (new raised beds and a fence repairs, yippee!), our grounds crew has planted the first veggies. Meg and Nellie are excited to for summer afternoons in this special spot.

Next up, let’s check in on the rest of our animal crew–the bunnies have returned to HVC from their winter home and the horse barn’s first residents–horse Zion and mini donkey Jack, recently moved in.

And, our baby ducklings are here! So precious and tiny, they can’t wait to meet you all!

And here are a few glimpses of our mighty crew! They’ve been hard at work repairing fences, mowing lawns and preparing the horse barn.

And at the lake (funner!), Al and the crew assembled the brand new boating dock.

After all that work, staff took time to relax with s’mores at the top of Tipi Hill and enjoy the sunset! The new fire-pit overlooks the Valley and has lots of space for outdoor cooking. The perfect spot to spend a summer evening!

Helloo Hidden Valley!

Woody the Woodpecker here! Life in the Valley has been busy, busy, busy, but I’m back to give you all the scoop. The mud has disappeared from camp road and our fields, replaced by green grass and lots of spring flowers. The trees are in bloom and HVC’s first animals have arrived.

And, speaking of arrivals, our very first staff have made their way to HVC! They’re hard at work already, getting camp ready for the summer and all of you. More on the staff soon…but for now, here are a few spring highlights:

The llamas had their spring haircuts!

HVC’s new boat dock was installed by Derek and Al, ready for lots of kayaks, canoes and paddleboards this summer!

      

Tui celebrated her 4th birthday with a fairy party, complete with a bouncy castle!

Anna and Haley, longtime HVC staff, stopped by to prep some delicious meals for us all to eat during before our kitchen staff arrive. Yum!

Construction was recently completed on the Love Shack’s extension, now home to youngest camper Teddy and his folks.
