Yoga

Hi there, folks! Olive Oyl here with some news for you as the countdown to camp inches just a little bit closer…
The Dining Hall has been home to tons of fun activities and logistics these past few weeks. Glass beads supplies, the starting plants for the Community garden, and the Ladybug’s special vehicles are all being stored inside the Dining Hall for the winter. There’s also been some fixing-up going on in preparation for the summer. A tennis net is being repaired, not to mention a truly amazing space that not many people get to see, the AWAC Shack, is also getting a few touch-ups before summertime.
Our winter caretakers, Al and his family, have been having a blast with sports and games in the Dining Hall. There’s been “Indoor Hackey Sack Volleyball,” Indoor Basketball, and Yoga, taught by a nearby woman who is practicing as she prepares to get her yoga teachers certificate. Be sure to check out the photos if you’re curious about what these wacky winter activities looks like!
The Dining Hall also features some remnants from times past this winter, like the cozy lounge area (made extra cozy by the fact that the Dining Hall is one of the only buildings heated year-round) left over from the reunion and the whiteboard featuring remnants from a fall wedding. The kitchen has also been getting some use, with a neighbor using the space to make sauces and relishes.
Unfortunately, as some of you may know, our beloved Buckhorn, home to screenprinting, tie-dye, and batik classes, collapsed under the heavy snow this winter. Plans for a new art building are underway, but in the meantime, rescued parts are living in the Dining Hall.
Well, that’s all the news for now! It will only be a few months until staff start arriving and the start of the summer will be on its way!
Don’t forget to see all the cool photos!!
So long,
Olive
